Construction Skills

Construction is the UK's largest sector offering exciting opportunities for training and employment in a variety of roles. Therefore, as the UK's largest industry, we need a skilled and qualified workforce. Whether you need to train your staff, you want to develop your skills, or you're looking to start a career, you'll find a range of courses and qualifications to help you reach your goals. Assistance with funding of training may be available.

ConstructionSkills is the Sector Skills Council for the Construction Industry and the Built Environment representing every part of the construction industry, from architects to bricklayers, in every part of the UK, and covering every part of the skills agenda - from grants to college places. They understand what the industry wants and needs; they tell that directly to government, and they have the power to get things done. Besides, they will provides information and policy advice to other business areas, manages and promotes competence-based registration schemes for the construction industry, provides careers advice and manages a network of educational programmes with schools and colleges, encourages and processes applications for apprenticeships and places suitable young people with companies that can provide appropriate work experience, even they delivers training advice and support for qualifying construction companies and so much more.

Fulfilling these aims will result in a qualification that is recognised and valued in helping young people progress from college or school into adult working life and ongoing learning. Therefore, without CITB-ConstructionSkills, many small firms would simply not be able to afford to train any operatives.
